This certification comes from the collaboration of URBICSA with ERF, a leading company in environmental, territorial and energy efficiency consulting, which has played a key role in the transformation of Barcelona and its metropolitan area towards sustainability during the last twenty-five years.
The complex, created to unify judicial bodies and optimize functionality, saving and accessibility, is consolidated as a model of complementation between integration and sustainability.
With the EMAS certification, ‘The City’ not only takes a step forward in its commitment to environmental protection, but also establishes a new standard in sustainability in the infrastructure sector and especially in the justice sector. The EMAS certification, a rigorous environmental management standard, allows management companies, such as URBICSA, to continuously evaluate and improve their environmental practices. This includes efficient waste management, the use of energy-saving technologies, the reduction of carbon footprint and the promotion of sustainable transport.
In addition to the EMAS certification, URBICSA has recently achieved another remarkable success, achieving the maximum rating of 5 stars in the GRESB Infrastructures 2023, marking a significant milestone in its continuous commitment to excellence in sustainability. This rating recognises URBICSA’s good environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, which have included actions such as the recent installation of more than 2,000 square metres of solar panels.
These achievements are part of the line of work that URBICSA has been developing for years, always in tune with the ESG values (Environment, Social and Governance), the SDG objectives and the 2030 Agenda.
