URBICSA has presented the Professional Development Programme (PDP) specialising in Building Maintenance, a private business initiative, supported by investment funds, which is socially committed to youth employability within the company, and to the transfer of intergenerational knowledge.
Unlike other actions related to youth employment and mandatory dual internships, URBICSA offers a unique and exceptional work experience, preparing professionals in their specialties, within the complex of La Ciutat de la Justicía.
The Ramon Serra In-company scholarships guarantee former students the employment of any person with salary and continuous training through monitoring with company experts.
At the end of the year of hiring, we prepare them as candidates in the next step in the job search, with the LideraT360 program specialized in employability, so that they can continue with their professional career.
Among the participating companies are: COPISA, PYCSECO and SERVEO. All of them are recognized companies committed to preparing professionals for generational change in their respective activities.
A unique opportunity to learn from professionals
The program is governed by a training plan, with an index of topics and training to be carried out. During the PDP, the student will have their own training plan and a personalised calendar to advance in their technical training.
The PDP is divided into four specialized areas within the building maintenance environment: Civil Works, Electricity and Lighting, Air Conditioning and Energy Efficiency, Systems and Security and Fire. Each of these specializations has highly qualified professional mentors. And the commitment assumed implies a highly personalized accompaniment that will allow young people to put into practice the knowledge taught to improve in their profession.
Likewise, students will receive periodic feedback from the assigned mentors (from URBICSA and the collaborating company) to evaluate the achievement of knowledge and supervise their adaptation.
The programme has recently been presented to the students, teachers and tutors of the Escola del Treball de Barcelona, who have been able to learn in detail about the characteristics of the project in a general presentation held on 14 February.
More than 50 students, teachers and tutors involved in the process, from Higher and Intermediate Grade cycles of the Industrial School, have attended the presentation of the new Beques In-company Ramon Serra project.
From URBICSA, we would like to thank all the participants for their involvement, commitment and availability in participating in this business initiative. An initiative that seeks to generate synergies with the academic environment and capture the attention of young people who want to grow professionally and make a place for themselves in the world of work in the field of building maintenance, together with the participation of companies that require trained professionals better prepared to cover generational changes in their activities.
