URBICSA has launched the Ramon Serra In-company Scholarships with a program that promotes young talent and their potential for the future. This is the Professional Development Program (PDP) specialized in Building Maintenance, a private business project, supported by Investment Funds, which pursues the objective of promoting the labor scenario for recent graduates, promoting the transfer of knowledge between generations.
This initiative contemplates the employment of four people per year, with salary, and offers specialized training in building maintenance and preparation for job search. Students will collaborate with leading companies in the sector and learn from professionals with a long career.
The PDP pursues two objectives: on the one hand, it seeks to impact young talent, coming from Vocational Training, training them within the Building Maintenance Area, encouraging their recruitment and professional development and facilitating their job placement.
On the other hand, it creates a unique working model between URBICSA and the collaborating companies, the academic entities at the local level, especially the Escola Industrial – Escola del Treball de Barcelona.
4 areas of specialization taught by industry experts
The program is divided into 4 areas of specialization, within the Building Maintenance environment:
- Civil Works: Taught by Jordi Molina, an expert in industrial electronics and with more than 28 years of experience in the industrial maintenance sector. Foreman and technical supervisor in civil works and plumbing.
- Electricity and Lighting: Taught by Jonatan Izquierdo, Technical Telecommunications Engineer, Master in Automated Production and Robotics, and Technical Supervisor of Climate and Electricity at the City of Justice.

- Air Conditioning and Energy Efficiency. Taught by Josep Mª Domenech, Energy Manager, specialist in industrial refrigeration and electricity, with a professional career of more than 35 years.
The course content is divided into three parts. It begins with the General Reception Plan, common to the 4 specialties, to get to know the City of Justice, the organization and the professionals who work there.
The second part of the Programme has been specifically designed to incorporate specific contents that must be addressed in each of the areas of specialisation, organised into 2 blocks:
The first block consists of 3 units, referring to specific introductory content to the specialty. The second block consists of 4 units, in which fieldwork will be addressed, taught in a theoretical-practical way, along with the programming of various activities such as attendance at fairs and congresses related to their profession, such as Smart City, Genera, Construmat, Security, which will allow the student to broaden their vision of the market.
From URBICSA we want to transmit all the energy deposited in this project that is already a reality. We are fully proud to be able to offer this unique opportunity to promote the employment of the new generations, in a social context where it is possible, more than ever, to value the work of young talents.
